Programs and Services

Making Life Better for the Community

At the Ann Arbor Community Center, we believe that everyone deserves to feel good about themselves and to know they are an important part of the community. Our programs and services are designed to make a difference in the lives of the people of the Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County area, especially those who have historically been overlooked.

Building a strong community takes all of us, those in need and those who can provide assistance. Take a look at our offerings below and contact us by calling (734) 662-3128 if you need help or if you are able to assist us in providing these services.

Please note!

The pandemic has altered how we can assist. If you have a need, please call and we will help you get the relief you need. Finding help can be difficult! We are here to help you find resources!

Our
Mission:

With an emphasis on socioeconomically disadvantaged youth and families, the Ann Arbor Community Center, Inc. (AACC) is a vital community resource that provides high-quality programs, information, and services to citizens in need.

How We Help

Children and Families

Building strong families is at the core of our mission. Healthy families are the foundation of strong and healthy communities.

While our programs for children and families do help fill immediate needs, our main objective is to help families find long-term solutions that will prevent future problems.

Strong Families = Strong Communities

Economic Security

Economic insecurity has ripple effects across the lives of those impacted and makes it difficult to get back on stable ground.

By combining short-term aid with the development of needed skills, the downward spiral of economic insecurity can be prevented or halted.

We ARE Our Brother's Keeper

Senior Citizens

Seniors are our storehouse of wisdom and history. They should remain connected to and supported by the community at large.

Our goal is to help address the obstacles seniors face due to the loss of a spouse, physical ailments, mobility problems, cognitive decline, or lack of nearby family.

Seniors Are Our Roots!

The Wendy Fund

Help Us Help Others during the Winter Heating Season!
Your donations to the Wendy Fund will go toward helping families with heat, electricity, and other utilities during the winter.

Donate Today!

Designate “the Wendy Fund” when you donate and help keep our Washtenaw County families warm and safe during this difficult time.

One day a lady named Wendy called the AACC. She was almost fussing at herself when she said, “I’ve been meaning to contribute! Now I’m donating because I don’t want folks to not have heat/electricity. Can you tell me how to do that?”

The AACC shared her sincere desire that no one be cold. To have no child miss a class because their computer couldn’t be charged. And we placed her donation into a program that we now call “the Wendy Fund.”

A family was blessed by this fund just recently through the work of Mark Howson, Julie Burdick, and the AACC! And twenty-five families have been helped since that one person, Wendy, made an effort to draw attention to this very real need in Washtenaw County!

Thank you, Wendy. If you would like to donate to this fund and other programs at the AACC, please click the button above or click here.
