Rethinking How You Celebrate Independence Day

  • Post category:News

The 4th of July! Celebrating our Independence and still fighting the Virus!!We all want to enjoy ourselves during the holidays, but we must also continue to take precautions to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe and healthy.

Host or attend an outdoor “Social Distance Gathering” with people you trust to be following safe precautions. Keep your group small. Keep 6ft away from those not in your household by providing seating and table space sufficiently spread out. Ask each to bring a picnic for their own group including place settings.

Have a virtual gathering of your family and/or friends. Send invitations with suggested items each person should have on hand such as a sparkling beverage, a fun hat or glasses, a summer barbecue food item. Have an agenda for the gathering with time for sharing, eating, and commemorating the day as you see fit.

Involve all members of your family to create a special celebration for your household. Plan a special menu and activities that will help everyone enjoy this time together. Even your young children can help create a day you will all remember and enjoy.

To be Independent of this virus we must:

1) Wear a mask
2) Wash our hands at least 20 seconds
3) Maintain socially distant from folks! At Least 6 feet apart
4) Use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available
5) WEAR A MASK!

Seriously…. this VIRUS is not going to just go away! We must do our part.
